Hans Rey and Dave Mirra

Ray's Legends Weekend

This weekend at Ray's Indoor Bike Park a bunch of BMX and Mountain bike old timers came in to do a ride with the pros event. It was a unique set up. There weren't and set time demos for the crowd, the guys just rode the park. If you were in the same area with them when they were riding, you got a show. But if you weren't around or riding another part of the park, you might not have even realized the pros were there.

The park was super crowded so I rode for an hour or so then set up to take some photos. Got some decent stuff of Carter Holland and the rest of the Black Market Bike crew out of California. It was an overcast day outside so there really wasn't much light coming into the park which made all of the photos look about the same.

Joel Hageman and Dave MirraTowards the end of the day Dave Mirra grabbed a Trials bike and took a stab at it. He looked like it was his first time on something like that, but as you can imagine, picked it up fairly quickly. See the photo above. The guy on the left is Hans Rey one of the founding fathers of trails riding and taking mountain biking off the train and into the back country. He is in the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. And of course Dave Mirra who has the most X-Games medals of all time. He is the most competitively dominant BMX rider since they started holding contests.

It was great to be able to hang out and ride with these guys. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves and didn't seem overwhelmed as they probably would have gotten if it were more of a demo set up. The Legends could just ride and have a good time.
